Freshing a Website is a Felony?!
Jan 9th
After reading about this on both Slashdot and Techdirt, I am actually surprised this did not happen in my own state of Alabama. A teenage who was telling his friends or classmates to goto the school website and hold down the refresh (F5) key and see if the webserver will crash, according to all the sites reporting on this story. While this boy is being charged with a felony for this, some kids were charged with a misdemeanors for entering the school and illegally accessing the computers to change grades. Now, how backwards is this?. The thing that gets worse is that the server never crashed and he may not have actually done it himself… For more into visit these site:
It is funny to note that having Slashdot involved in this has already made their server stall and not respond, so this publicity has done more damage than that kid could have ever done.
